Record Breaking Crowds - 09 July 2008

This year saw the highest Saturday attendance that the RAF Waddington Air Show has ever experienced. We were visited by over 70,000 people. This was a truly amazing crowd considering the very changable weather over the whole weekend. They were thrilled by a very varied and international flying and static display. The star of the show had to be the Vulcan and we are extremely proud to have witnessed the return to the display circuit of this icon of the Cold War. Unfortunately, the aircraft suffered a technical fault on Sunday preventing it from performing although it did complete a taxi and take off run to compensate the crowd.

The flying display thrilled the crowd with 4 fanastic aerobatic team performances supplied by the Chilean Air Force "Halcones", the Indian Air Force "Sarands" helicopter team, the Spanish Air Force Patrulla Aguila" and of course our own "Red Arrows". They were supplemented by a wide aray of military flying displays and a comprehensive static line.

Be ready for next years show by putting the dates 4-5 July 2009 into your diary now.

SEE YOU NEXT YEAR
